Pinnacle Odds API Comparison 2026: Six Ways to Get the Line, Side by Side

Every realistic way to get Pinnacle odds in 2026, compared on the things that matter: is Pinnacle actually in the feed, is it pushed or polled, what does it cost, and is there a free tier. Checked against each vendor's own pages between August and October 2026.
Since Pinnacle closed its public API in July 2025, "Pinnacle odds API" has become a category rather than a product, and the vendors in it are not alike. Some are built around Pinnacle. Some carry it as one of 350 books. One of them does not list Pinnacle at all on the plan most people would start with. This post lines them up on the four things that actually decide the choice.
Everything below was checked against the vendors' own pages between August and October 2026. Prices change; treat the table as a starting point and confirm before you buy. We are one of the vendors, so read our row with that in mind.
The four questions
- Is Pinnacle actually in the feed, on the plan you would buy? The single most skipped question.
- Pushed or polled? A pushed feed tells you when a price moves. A polled feed makes you ask, and the gap between asks is latency you pay for.
- What does it cost, and how is it metered? Flat monthly, per credit, or a sales call.
- Can you try it free, and does the free tier include Pinnacle?
Side by side
| Service | Built around Pinnacle? | Delivery | Pricing model | Free tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| pinnodds | yes, Pinnacle only | REST + SSE drops + raw WebSocket | flat: $99 / $149 / $229 per month | 100 req/day, no card, no expiry |
| pinnapi | yes, Pinnacle only | REST + SSE + WebSocket | flat: $99 to $229 per month | 100 req/day |
| SharpAPI | no, multi-book sharp lines | REST + SSE | flat: $0 / $79 / $229 / $399 | yes; check which books |
| SportsGameOdds | no, US multi-book aggregator | REST; WebSocket on higher tiers | from $99/mo; free plan | yes; 10-minute updates on free, Pinnacle coverage to confirm |
| The Odds API | no, broad aggregator | REST only, no push | credits: free, $30 to $249 per month | 500 credits/month, most books |
| OpticOdds | no, enterprise feed | ask | no public pricing, sales-led | no |
Three things stand out from the table.
Only two options treat Pinnacle as the product. pinnodds and pinnapi exist for Pinnacle's line. Everyone else sells breadth, and Pinnacle's presence, depth and update rate on their plans is something to verify rather than assume.
Push is not universal. The Odds API has no push of any kind; you poll on a credit meter. For a model that wants closing-line value, that is fine. For anything that reacts to a move, it is not.
Metering decides the real price. A $30 credit plan can be cheaper than a $99 flat plan for a daily batch job, and much more expensive for a live scanner. Work out your request pattern before comparing the headline numbers.
Where each one fits
pinnodds. Pinnacle's live and prematch board at full depth, quarter lines included, specials on request, over REST, with a server-side drop detector pushed over SSE and the raw frames over WebSocket on the top plan. Flat pricing, free key in a minute. The weak spots: one bookmaker only, no historical archive, no sales team. If you need forty books, this is one column of your spreadsheet, not the whole thing. Details on the Pinnacle Odds API page.
pinnapi. The same category, Pinnacle-only, push-based, flat-priced with a free daily allowance. If you are choosing between it and pinnodds you are choosing on details: line depth, the drop detector, the WebSocket passthrough and the SDKs. Try both free keys on the same evening.
SharpAPI. Sharp-book aggregation with SSE streaming and a free tier. Good if your model wants several sharp books, not just Pinnacle. Confirm Pinnacle's inclusion on the free plan before building on it; it has historically been reserved for paid tiers.
SportsGameOdds. A US-centric aggregator with a free plan that updates every ten minutes and paid tiers with far higher resolution. Its published bookmaker list leans heavily on US books; if Pinnacle is the point, ask whether it is on your tier and at what update rate.
The Odds API. The widest cheap aggregator and a sensible choice for backtesting across many books. Polling only, credit-metered, so budget for a live use case before assuming the free tier covers it.
OpticOdds. Enterprise infrastructure for operators and large trading groups. No public pricing, a sales process, and a feature set to match. If you are reading a blog post to pick an API, it is probably not the one.
How to choose in ten minutes
- Write down whether Pinnacle is your reference line or one input. That eliminates half the table.
- Write down the slowest update you can tolerate. Under a few seconds means push, which eliminates The Odds API and the free aggregator tiers.
- Estimate requests per day for your real pattern, and price the credit options against the flat ones.
- Sign up for the free keys that survived, pull the same market from each on the same evening, and compare the depth and the timestamps.
Step four is the one people skip, and it is the only one that tells you anything a vendor's page cannot.
pinnodds is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Pinnacle. Competitor details reflect their public pages as checked between August and October 2026; they are theirs to change.
Frequently asked questions
Which Pinnacle odds API is best in 2026?
It depends on whether Pinnacle is the point or one input among many. If Pinnacle's line is your reference price, a dedicated pushed feed such as pinnodds is the closest thing to the old API. If you need dozens of books and Pinnacle is one column, an aggregator is the right buy and Pinnacle coverage varies by plan.
Is there an official Pinnacle API in 2026?
Not a public one. Pinnacle closed public access in July 2025 and now grants data access case by case. Every option in this comparison is an independent service.
Which options have a free tier that includes Pinnacle?
pinnodds (100 requests a day, no card, no expiry) and pinnapi (100 requests a day). The Odds API's free tier covers most bookmakers on a credit model. SportsGameOdds and SharpAPI have free plans whose Pinnacle coverage you should confirm on their pricing pages before relying on it.
Do any of these push odds rather than make you poll?
pinnodds, pinnapi and SharpAPI offer push (SSE and/or WebSocket). The Odds API is polling only. SportsGameOdds lists WebSocket streams on higher tiers. OpticOdds is enterprise and sales-gated, so ask.
